Connect Microsoft Teams

Azure app registration — 10 minutes, needs a Microsoft 365 admin.

⚠ This needs admin rights on your Microsoft 365/Azure tenant. If that's not you, loop in whoever administers your organisation's Teams/Office 365.

  1. Go to portal.azure.com and sign in with your admin account.
  2. Search for and open App registrations → New registration. Name it Bilazann, choose "Accounts in this organizational directory only", then Register.
  3. On the app's Overview page, copy the Application (client) ID and Directory (tenant) ID.
  4. Go to Certificates & secrets → New client secret → copy the Value shown immediately (not the Secret ID — it's only shown once).
  5. Go to API permissions → Add a permission → Microsoft Graph → Application permissions and click to add these four: ChannelMessage.Read.All, Team.ReadBasic.All, Channel.ReadBasic.All, Chat.Read.All.
  6. Still on API permissions, click Grant admin consent for [your org] — this is what actually activates the permissions.
